Frequently Asked Questions
What can I use the Short Creator for?
Turning landscape or long footage into ready-to-post vertical clips: repurpose a stream highlight, gameplay moment or talking-head video into 9:16 shorts for YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels, with text, images and effects layered on top.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. The video is decoded, composited and re-rendered entirely in your browser. Your footage never leaves your device, which keeps it private and avoids long uploads.
What can I add on top of the video?
You can stack layers: text, images, animated particle effects, and an optional audio-reactive visualizer. Each layer can be positioned, styled, reordered, and set to react to the video's audio.
How does it make vertical shorts?
After you design your layers, the short generator re-renders the video into 9:16 vertical clips, center-cropping the footage to fill the frame and keeping your overlays on top. You choose the clip length and how many clips to produce.
Do the overlays really react to the audio?
Yes. Layers can pulse, shake, or change with the beat of the video's own audio track, and you can add a visualizer driven by that audio. If a video has no audio, the layers simply render statically.
What format is the output?
Clips are rendered as WebM or MP4 (whichever your browser supports best), with the original audio preserved. Re-rendering happens in real time, so a clip takes about as long to produce as it is to play.
Can I reuse a layout across videos?
Yes. Save your layer setup as a preset in your browser and load it again later, so a consistent look can be applied to new videos in seconds.
