The recently found ransomware can confuse the security systems by encripting user files with the extention “.locky”, but since Locky (previously found ransomware) doesn’t use this extension anymore, specialists at Avast have identified a new threat.

Security analysts from Avast revealed that, at this moment, Hungary is the only country infected by this ransomware. However, the specialists estimate that Hucky will soon arrive at other countries.

To be protected against this ransomware, users shouldn’t open archives from an unknown source or doubted source, even if they are sent from a trusted e-mail or messaging service.
