Activision is celebrating the end of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s recent beta and announced that it was the largest and most successful ever in the whole Call of Duty franchise history.

Although, the publisher did not provide any details, the beta was able to break several internal records:

  • Record numbers of players,
  • Record of hours played;
  • Record of highest simultaneous network access, in other words, highest number of active players on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.

According to Activision, millions of players have downloaded and played the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta, where gamers had the opportunity to try out the crossplay feature, which for the first time in the COD franchise, allows them to play together regardless of the platform they are playing from PS4, Xbox One or PC.

Byron Beede, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Call of Duty at Activision:

“Response from the fans to the release of Modern Warfare next month have been unbelievable. Since we started the development, there has been an extraordinary excitement about the game, and we thank all the Call of Duty players and the development teams led by Infinity Ward for breaking this beta record on October 25, when players everywhere can experience the full depth and gameplay that Modern Warfare has to offer.”

Currently, the developer Infinity Ward is busy correcting the player’s feedback from the beta and including the final details on the first person shooter before the official release day.
